Meeting Minutes

1.  Meeting was opened at 7:00 P.M. in the Training room of Memorial City Hall
In attendance were members: Peter Gabek, Michael Deming, Sam Swan, Jim Hutchinson, Betty Lewis, Michael J. Cuddy, Sr. and staff members Michael Long.

2. Approval of Minutes:  Motion by:  Peter Gabek, seconded by Sam Swan to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2001 meeting as prepared without changes. Approved unanimously.

3. Certificate of Appropriateness:      No applications presented.

4. Other Items:
1.      Westminster Manor wood window with vinyl cladding, which would help on maintenance, issues.
2.      First Presbyterian Church items.
3.      50 South Street
4.      Certified Local Government Program (CLG) Grant request.   Mike Long stated that the board originally approved a submission of a maximum request.  This was scaled down to include $4,500 of this year
5.      City Budget request for 2002-2003 fiscal year.   Jim Hutchinson stated that when we prepare the budget request to the city manager / city council, that funds should be included for attending preservation conferences and workshops if the members so desire.  
6.      Educational Programs.  There was discussion that next year, HRRB should sponsor educational workshops aimed at the individuals throughout the historic district.  This might include “proper mortar mixing and applications, window repairs, exterior porch restoration, etc.  Members should think of potential topics to be discussed at a future meeting.  Possibly, these could be in the field experiences at homes for “hands on experience”.

5.  Next Board Meeting:
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. at Memorial City Hall
6.   Adjournment:       The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 P.M.  Motion by Jim Hutchinson, and seconded by Peter Gabak, with all in favor.
